A confirmed experience

A centre dedicated to exchanges and encounters since 1896

Our centre has been delivering high-quality and innovative teaching ever since it was set up under the auspices of the Committee of Patronage for Foreign Students, becoming the University Centre for French Studies (the CUEF) of Stendhal University (Grenoble 3) in 1974.
Over the decades it has established itself and successfully maintained its position as a centre of excellence for teaching French as a Foreign Language (FFL).

Every year, the CUEF welcomes:

  • 2 500 students
  • 110 nationalities
  • 850 exam candidates
  • 40 teaching workshops for teachers of French as a Foreign Language
  • 100 classes involved in off-site teaching activities

A stimulating university environment

The CUEF is located in Grenoble a multicultural, high-tech town and centre for research. The city has been officially recognised as a centre of excellence for supporting innovation in IT, software, and biotechnology.
